We are going to test our buddies with their spelling words on a Friday.

Thanks everyone for the Grandparent photos. We are designing and making frames during art.The photos will be displayed inside the frame.

Practise, practise, practise!!! Basic Facts

Everyone needs to revisit basic facts to 20. We should be able to recall the answer within 3 seconds.Make it fun by turning the learning into a game.

SWIMMING- send togs to school everyday unless ill. We are looking forward to showing the parents what we can do in the water!

WEEK 3
We have started formal testing . Your child will be tested on: Listening, Reading Comprehension, Reading Vocabulary and Mathematics plus their Basic Facts.

The sound for the week is 'dr'.
Make sure you learn your list words!

Send along a photo of 'Grandparents'. We are going to use them inside a homemade frame.(I will copy them so don't worry)

Writing
Our new topic is A Moment in Time. Rocco wrote-
Meeting My New Teacher
I felt nervous as an All Black in the finals when I walked into my new class. It sounded like Mum's chatting and kids playing happily. I saw smiles like the found gold and eyes made out of silver. The room was as colourful as a rainbow! I agree that everyone had a magnificent great day.

Week 2

What a busy week we all had!!

This is our class- we are going to be a great class.

Remember to bring your togs everyday for swimming or bring a note.

Reading bookbags come to school everyday with your spelling notebook, Reading book and book log.

Welcome to an exciting year in TOTARA

My name is Deb Hurrell and I will be teaching your child in a Year 3/4 class of 25 students.

Check this page regularly and you will see what we have been learning. I hope to meet all the parents and caregivers over the next few weeks- feel free to pop in and join us with our learning.

Week 7

One week four days to go!!
On Monday students will meet their new teacher for 2012 from 9-11am.
Tuesday :Ange will come and gather data about what we now know about Technology.
GOOD LUCK TO MALACHI, TARQUIN & MELBOURNE they are competing in the Wellington Interschool relay race.

Monday 12th December- class trip to Carterton Park 9-11.30 followed by a shared lunch at 12.00

Term Four

Welcome Back Everyone

Congratulations to the All Blacks on winning the World Cup!! I was lucky enough to go to the Semi Finals in Auckland with New Zealand playing the Wallabies.

It was back to work last week and what a great start we had in TOTARA.

We harvested the beetroot from our garden on Friday. Altogether we counted 14 beets. This week we are going to experience the taste by cooking them and turning them into fritters :)

Our trip to WELLINGTON is in week 3 on Tuesday.What a fantastic day we will have.
