Buddy Time Friday was such a fun day!! Firstly we met with our buddy and created a boat out of recycled materials. We needed to discuss what we were going to do and then how we would do it.
After lunch we met up with our buddy, picked up our boat then headed to the swimming pool.We felt so excited!!
All of our boats floated! Yay we were successful. Reflection Assembly: Come and join us on Thursday just after 9 am in the hall.

The Arts:This week there will be a rotation involving all classes at Solway. Every afternoon students will experience new and exciting lessons to with with Drama, Dance and Sound Art. Last week we were lucky enough to work with Paul from the Arts Road Show bus. We saw all sorts of art and observed what was used to create the art. The final day was the favourite!! We made mash-ups of our own from different parts and joined them together to create our own master piece.

During Week 8 & 9 we will be visiting the Arts Road Show. We will walk up the road to the Marae where the Road Show vehicle is parked.There is no cost. We had a fun trip to Te Ore Ore Marae last Wednesday. The children learnt alot and will remember this awesome experience.

Friday Maths- Geometry- Patterning Library: please make sure your child's book is returned to school for Library Day which is Thursday Marae Visit: Our syndicate will be going to Te Ore Ore Marae on Wednesday. We will use buses as transport. Rich Concepts: A big thankyou for your support with sending the photos, paper, bits & pieces for your child's 3D stage they made about themselves. Call in and have a look- they are FANTASTIC! Milk:We are the monitors for the school which means we deliver the cartons to classes each day and keep the fridge stocked with cartons, recycle the cardboard. Some pics of the first milk day.

Reading: PAT Testing is finished so Guided groups will start up again this week Rich Concepts: Diversity- Same & Different Our swimming sports last week were a huge success. The kids love having someone to watch and cheer them on. We are missing a few sunhats so have a look at home please.

I am encouraging students to challenge themselves when they choose their words. Swimming Sports: Wednesday 18th February All children will swim in the outside pool unless they have been named to swim in the inside pool with the Seniors. Please join us over at the Park for a picnic lunch. You are free to take your child home at around 2.30pm. A bus will transport all other children back to school. Thankyou to those who attended the School Parent Information afternoon last week. Look out for an Information Booklet being sent home this week with your child.
